Is it illegal in the State of Kentucky to leave your child in the car while you go in a store to pay for gas, etc. The whole time you can see the car and the child. The car is locked and you have the keys and its not to hot nor to cold outside?

• First of all I think if everyone just used some common sense when doing anything,so much stupid shit wouldn't happen.Sometimes even when really thinking something really stupid happens. What I'm saying is that sometimes no matter what if something is meant to happen it will.Also,I think people should worry more about thier own business than someone elses.People always want to step up and do the right thing when its not needed but where are all thoughs people when the right thing is needed to be done? They're to busy in everbody elses business to notice,"Hey nows the time when I should do the right thing!" Where are all those people when a parent goes to work on the hottest day of the year and forgets that their 2yr.old is left in the car all day? What I'm saying is if you are running in the store for a sec.and your car and child are in perfect view,the doors are locked you have the keys.Your child can't get out of his car seat by himself.I don't see a problem with it.Just use your head

• You're right, people SHOULD worry about their own business instead of other peoples. However, this doesn't apply when someone is endangering a child. You might only leave the child there for a few minutes, but a few minutes can have deadly consequences. It only takes a child a few minutes to choke on something, a few seconds even....
  
  Would you leave a bag with $50,000 on the car seat while you went about your personal business? Probably not. Why would you leave something worth much more than that, a child, in the car alone? Just use your head.

• Obviously randomness,you did not read my comment clearly.If you did you would have read the part that said,"where are all thoughs people that want to step up and do the right thing when someone goes to work and forgets that they didn't drop little Sally off at pre-school and shes left in a 200+ degree mini van.I totally agree that if someone is endangering a child you should call who ever and do what ever you can to protect that child.Just because I feel okey with leaving my child in the car for a sec.(depending on many circumstances)does not mean that I am a careless parent or that I endanger my child.Its just my opinion and I guess it depends on a parents comfort zone. As I said,"It depends on many circumstances" and not every childs the same. I've seen some kids that I would never do this with if they were mine.I know that with out a doubt I would never forget to drop my child of at childcare,go on to work and leave my child in the car all day.This growing epatemic is crazy.
