hmm, I'll try remembering all the species I have kept (me personaly, not my family) you tell me which is the most uncommon.
cats (one had a friend raccoon who cried for her outside our window after she vanished)
fish
rats
Iguanas
after this I caught all of them wild by hand (no traps) some I kept for days others I kept for months
pigeon
dove
woodpecker
baby rabbit (dad did not let me keep it)
door mouse
ferrel kitten (bit through my thumb nail. only let it go because I could not afford a pet deposit)
garter snakes
crawdads (ok, I ate way more than I ever kept as pets)
stellers jay
stickle back fish
common frogs
tree frogs
bull frogs
salamanders
newts
bullfrog tadpole
eels
monarch butterfly
spiders
toads
little lizzards (2-8 inch I don't know what species')
geckos
horny toads
baby swallow
squirel (not so much pet... chuck laid claim to my porch and he would take food from my hand and eat right next to me... and allow NO other squirels to touch my porch.
WOW!!! I knew I had had a lot of wild pets but never realized it was THIS MANY!!!! I had never listed them before.
African Clawed Frog. They loved summer/autumn moths. *grin*

A butterfly. I found her on the ground. Ants had started to eat her wings. We kept her in a box. Went and picked flowers to feed her. Would get a spoon with water for her to drink. Her name was Hazel, and looked like a Monarch. She lived maybe a week, if even.
A woodpecker. His wing was broken, I found him in my backyard when I was little. We tried everything we could to help it, but I don't think it helped, it died two days after.
Otherwise, I had a turtle for about three years, called Tiamat.
How's a Timber Wolf/Alaskan Husky mix sound? She's such a goofball XD

I had one of those too. She fell out of nest as a baby. We fed her let her go she came back. Had her for 8 years. Named Chirp. That bird ate everything, even chicken. She would pitch a fit if we didn't give her everything we ate.

How long did you have it, how did you come by it? I had a sparrow. I rescued it as a baby. And later released it.

Yes, it fell out of the nest too. Hand feed it until it was big and strong enough to fly. Freddy was his name. Stay around for years became my pet robin.
