Amen to that. I'd love to see bipartisanship on Healthcare Reform. It needs it. Cons could contribute on tort reform and cost control. But no, it's all got to be about death panels and socializing medicine and a pack of lies like those.
This might be "off the track" but can I just eat you? Instead of answering this question? ROFL!!! (((HUGS))) to you Austinius!!! +5
Yay! Finally. Whew, I thought they'd never leave.
You know what, that's not my issue at all. My issue is that it isn't Nazism, or Socialism, or Communism, but that somehow, certain people allowed on "news" tv, manage to make it (whatever it is at the moment) all three at once and that's just wrong!!

You're going to make sure that no student ever passes history, confuse the Neo-Nazis (ok, so that would be good, but you might confuse them into hating more people then they do to begin with), and you're making a lot of people roll over in their graves. Including people who haven't died yet! Stop it! I like my history the way it is, you know, with the Nazis, socialists and communists not agreeing with each other. And certainly not being the same thing.
See what happened now? I don't know how WWII ended anymore! Did the Nazi/socialist/communists win? I thought Germany and Russia fought each other...but they wouldn't do that, they're the same, right? I'm so confused now.
You forgot the other available choice:
free market capitalism.
Oh boy...if that happened the logical conclusion would be the Second American Civil War. In that event I as an Australian would hope to be proficient in Indonesian or some other language. Thanks for the reminder, better get those language-learning books out. :-P

You're reading Conservatives: Why must everything be Nazism, or Socialism, or Communism? Can't you understand that not all or even most of America agrees with your political positions? We've tried working with you, but you won't play ball. Now we'll do it w/o you.

That's why I think unilateral action is the only option. If they won't help make America better, then we don't really need them.

They do want to make America better. But they believe the way to do that is to step back to the sort of society that England had in the days of Charles Dickens. They're just certain that if we had the workhouses again to lock up the rabble, they would end up as Mr. Scrooge and not poor Bob Cratchit or worse, Tiny Tim.

Weren't those the time frames when the rivers would burn because they were so polluted, large monopolies crushed new businesses, and no one had medical care?

Thise were the good old days, all right.
