Is there any story in the Bible of a Christian or follower of God taking their own life?

This is the only one i could think of as well. Thanks!

It's difficult to believe that Judas was a true follower of Christ.

no reason to give me negative 4, or was that you? because i never even implied that. Judas still was a true follower of christ, even though he betrayed christ he still repented from his sins by returning the money and killing himself. I think the ancient world still viewed him as what you think, Dante hated him enough to put him in his twisted poems.

If you read clearly he repented to MAN, he never asked God for forgiveness. Not saying he wasn't one of His, but he repented to man alone.

El Topo, you may not have implied that Judas was a true follower of Christ, but the question itself excludes those who were not.

I wouldn't be so sure about Judas' repentance either. Jesus, speaking of Judas after he had left to betray Him, said "The Son of Man goeth as it is written of Him, but woe unto that man by whom he is betrayed; better for that man if he had never been born".
That doesn't sound too encouraging for Judas.

Anyway, I didn't intend to take 4 points away. I didn't realize that I had to hold the cursor over the "rate answer" button for an instant for the little table to fly out.

Medicgirl, i really don't know if judas repented to God. I'm guessing he did because thats what repenting is. like if you go to confession and you tell the preist you murdered someone, the preist tells you your penance is to confess. Judas did repent by his last actions, but you right. i don't know if he asked for forgiveness from God. to WARY OLD GUY - I think judas was still a follower of christ. He repented from his sins which means he was truly sorry. and you really knew he meant it because he killed himself because he didn't want to live with the guilt. I really don't know because i don't know that much about judas. it's just my opinion. but thank you for giving me points back.

I don't think that King Saul was a follower of God at that time.
1Samuel 15:22-23 In turn Samuel said: “Does Jehovah have as much delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices as in obeying the voice of Jehovah? Look! To obey is better than a sacrifice, to pay attention than the fat of rams; 23 for rebelliousness is the same as the sin of divination, and pushing ahead presumptuously the same as [using] uncanny power and teraphim. Since you have rejected the word of Jehovah, he accordingly rejects you from being king.”

1Samuel 28:15-19 And “Samuel” began to say to Saul: “Why have you disturbed me by having me brought up?” To this Saul said: “I am in very sore straits, as the Phi‧lis′tines are fighting against me, and God himself has departed from me and has answered me no more, either by means of the prophets or by dreams; so that I am calling you to let me know what I shall do.”
16 And “Samuel” went on to say: “Why, then, do you inquire of me, when Jehovah himself has departed from you and proves to be your adversary? 17 And Jehovah will do for himself just as he spoke by means of me, and Jehovah will rip the kingdom away from your hand and give it to your fellowman David. 18 As you did not obey the voice of Jehovah, and you did not execute his burning anger against Am′a‧lek, that is why this is the thing that Jehovah will certainly do to you this day. 19 And Jehovah will also give Israel with you into the hand of the Phi‧lis′tines, and tomorrow you and your sons will be with me.
