Why is the famous painting "the scream" under van goghs name in some books? what did he have to do with it?

    That can only be a mistake, even though Van Gogh and Edvard Munch - who painted "The Scream" - do share some stylistic similarities. These are quite superficial, though. Van Gogh was Dutch and worked in France most of the time, whereas Munch was Norwegian and traveled to Berlin. He had stronger links to German Expressionism than to Van Gogh. He was also younger than Van Gogh. They never met.
