I'm not sure what you can do about the barking. Some dogs will stop naturally when they reach a certain age. They will only bark if they hear a noise while you are home. I know this cause my dogs do this. What I would suggest is; do not get a Beagle or a mixed with Beagle in him. They do nothing but bark.
I have a chihuahua thats almost 5 yrs old. He seems to be greying around his mouth already. Isnt he a little young for that?

You're reading I am saving to get a dog but one of my biggest concerns is if he'll be noisy and bark all day when I'm at work. Is there a sure fire way to train them not to bark in doors, even when you're gone?

Okay. Well I was planning on a dachshund...and I know certain dogs are just loud, and others are quiet, depending on their personality...is there a way to tell when they are puppies if they'll grow up to be loud and obnoxious?
