Trust but verify.
Never meet anyone privately the first time or for some time.
Do not disclose too much private info right away.
Have a buddy system in place. Someone to call and check on you when you go out.

Yes, I agree with all this good advice. It's so true! I have been Internet dating for about 3 years now. What I have learned are comments are a dime a dozen. Most of the men on these sites are looking to have affairs on there partner or just get laid. Hey and there are some women on those site too, that do just that. So be careful and take your time getting to know anyone on the Internet. " You can be who ever you want on the Internet". The few men I did date. I met in a public place and let friends and family know my where abouts and showed them on the Internet which person I was going to go meet. Dont mean to burst any bubbles, but none of the men I dated were successful relationships. I'm ready to give it up this internet dating. Better luck you!
