It's ok if it is cold and rainy - birds are used to that. Place it outside near your home in some sheltered area. If it is a baby, the mom might be looking for it.
I suggest you put it under a bush if you have one so its mother will find it. It seems harsh but if you don't its survival rate will be nil.I know this from experience and I realise it's really hard to do but keep the cat indoors and let the baby go.It may not live but you have hopefully given it back to its mommy.
I would call animal control in your area, they will come and get and nurse it to health and then release it into its natural environment.
Take it back outside and place it high up (tree, house roof, etc.) where the cat can't easily get it. Our experience is that it will eventually get back to the mother and fly away.
