You're reading Where in the world would you speak Esperanto?
Comments
Esperanto speakers have been occasionally members of Mensa. However it is the easiest language by far, much easier than English so average people learn it too. It is spoken at conventions, every year in most countries of the world. It is ignored by the media since it takes a little effort to acknowledge that maybe the foreign language we study today will not be the dominant one in another decade. French, German, Russian, and Spanish not to mention Chinese and Hindu are major regional/world languages that have come and gone. Esperanto attracts idealists throughout the world. Thousands of friendships are produced at peoples homes via Pasporta Servo, a hosting service of Esperanto speakers. My blog EsperantoFriends.blogspot.com will give you a wide range of usages of Esperanto . Many American cities have local clubs and websites (esperanto-usa.org, esperanto-nyc.org for examples)
