Help answer this question below.
To me they are not enemies,...but many others, sadly, perceive them to be, i.e., those who deny any truth to the old scriptures...and those who think science, and particularly the theory of "evolution", denies God. Both are wrong.
you know how beauty is in the eye of the beholder? well, science and religion can be friends or foes. it's up to the individual.
religion has made and declared war on science .. it has killed , murdered , , hung , burned to protect it's lies .. Many scientists were burned at the stake for challanging the churches view on nature . space and the universe .
Even the great physicist Galileo , was condemned for teaching that the earth revolved around the sun , unlike the churchs thoughts , that said the earth was the center of the universe , and everything revolved around it.
Members of the Knights Templar , ( who used to gaurd the Vatican). And members of the the Illuminati , were also burned or made into the enemy for their opposing views and use of science . They also used the four elemental signs of earth , wind , fire, and water .
the pentagram .
witchs , wiccans , pagans and natural healers ,
are still accused of being "evil " and worshiping the devil (a christian deitie ) . lol.
it is a now a one sided cola war that will not end untill christianity is disbanded . ......
or we all go back to this .

They are both vital. Science tells us the 'how', 'when' 'what' to our questions, Religion the 'why' and 'who'.
So many things in Science can co-exist with Christianity. Why wouldn't God have created his world using an amazing clever intricate detailed system like Evolution. Who put the anti-matter there for the Big Bang?
It depends on the maturity (or lack of it) of the practitioners.
science is discovery of truth ,and religion is how a society use this discovery with a traditional faith.
Good = Positive
Bad = Negative
The electricity rule
Current flows usually from the negative to the positive.
Without that there is no current.
Our life form has an electric current that keeps our heart going.
So we need both negatives and positives for life to have a spark.
:-)
Exhaling now.
Catch any of that second hand
:-)
at present the way that we view "where we came from" (historical sciences) seem to be very opposed, however Physics and Biology that show the complexity of a system and that systems are built on other systems give reason for intelegently designed beings and systems within the universe.
so they can be friends or enemies it depends on how you interpret the evidence.
(great question wish i could give points)
They are only enemies when one intrudes on the territory of the other. When the Church claims it knows the history of the Earth, science fights back. And when scientists start preaching a morality, religion makes them look foolish.
Foes, or siblings, and religion is the handicapped little sibling that no one pays attention to......
Science tells us facts and reality with evidence and how it is
while religion tell tells you lies to make you feel better
I once read a funny billboard
"Too stupid to understand science?
Try religion"
Do you feel that God will truly intervene in man's affairs and put an end to this world of wickedness.
