British, Canadian, and Australian divisions under General Haig, French divisions under General Neville, and German divisions under General Ludendorf. 150,000 to 160,000 casualties on both the allies and German sides from April 9 through May 16, 1917. The allied push failed to bring a significant advantage, though the taking of Vimy Ridge was seen as an Allied victory.
