Help answer this question below.
The God of Mormonism is the same God worshiped by all Churches. We may all speak and describe Him in different ways, but it is the ONE and only God with whom we have to do.
The Greeks may have borrowed some characteristics from our God and claimed them for their own. But our God existed long before there were any Greeks...Later
The god of the mormons throws thunderbolts, and comes down in a golden mist and sleeps with every good looking female, humm i didn't know this lol.
Well, one of my searches seemed to equate the alter of Zeus with the seat of Satan. If this is, in any way true, then the whole thing would make some sense. If the new world order is the one world government of the beast (and the mormons are working hard in the shadows to make it happen- search Bush and the mormons) then this "Kingdom of God" they talk about, is not what they claim it to be.
There are many similarities connecting ancient religions, such as Greek,Roman, and Egyptian religions. They are now referred to as mythology, but at the time were true religions of the people.
That being the case, religions of today could be considered mythology to future generations hundreds or thousands of years in the future.
I guess if you do the search, you will find out some things for yourself. I have little doubt that the beliefs were fashioned after some God but not the One in the New Testament. I was even more astounded to hear a mormon say "I didn't know anything at all about Odin until I heard it in the church." Now, the manner he used in saying it, precluded just a statement someone made to him about the definition of the name. Imagine my surprise after remembering my "ex" mormon girlfriend (and her friends) were talking so much about Odin 25 years ago. JUst has to make me wonder. I'm beginning to speculate (based on all the clues) that the mormons may be "those who say they are Jews but are lying and are really of the synagogue of Satan" as spoken of in the Bible. It's amazing to read the alter of Zeus (on the net) is also the seat of Satan- or so the website claims. Guess we'll all find out in the end.
"We believe in God the Eternal Father and in his Son Jesus Christ and in the Holy Ghost" -- Articles of Faith 1:1
We don't use creeds such as the Nicean Creed to help us define who God is. We believe that a study of the New Testament would reveal that Jesus Christ is the divine Son of God the Father are two separate beings. We don't worship Zeus--as whew4 stated, there may be some similarities because some cultures adopt ideas and incorporate them.
No. However, the stories of Zeus and other false gods were initially inspired by misinterpreted stories of the true God, passed down form Adam to Noah to Abraham and so forth.
Jesus Christ is the God of both heaven and earth. He created all things and is our Eternal God. The Greeks, you will have to admit, came into being well after the earth was created and in no way predate Christ. They did, however, garble the gospel message of salvation through Christ, which was present on earth since the days of Adam.
The correlation to Zeus is really interesting since Joseph Smith carried a Jupiter Talisman and Jupiter was the Roman name for Zeus.
I'm not sure if there's anything there but it is an interesting little trivia point.

You're reading Is the God of mormonism really Zeus, the Greek father God? I did a search on the web and there were some fascinating similarities.

>The God of Mormonism is the same God worshiped by all Churches<
.
So you're telling us that ALL Churches worship a God who is:
.
1) An exalted man who was resurrected into deity by obeying the God of his home planet?
.
2) One of Many Gods in the cosmos.
.
3) Begotten Sexually, by God the Father of his home planet.
.
4) Married with Children.
.
5) Requires Godliness before Justification.
.
6) Offers Full Salvation Only on Conditions
.
.
Uh . . . Whew? That's a BIG huge, "No!" on this one.
