All the time. When I was a youth I worked at a Chinese fast food restaurant, and I got a lot of dumb comments like "Is your sweet and sour pork sweet or sour?" "How hot is your wonton soup?" "Is this soy sauce or 'soya' sauce?" "Is your food good?" (Should I say no???) "Is your ginger beef hot-hot, or hot-hot-hot?" "Do you 'have' MSG?" (you mean, do we use it or do we have some???). And my favorite----"How many things can I get for 4 items?" Sheesh!!! Dumb comments I get today include "So how long have you've been here?" (You mean on earth??? lol) or referring to my olive complexion "So where did you go? I see you got a nice tan!" And my favorite----my two little daughters have their mother's very fair, pale complexion and I have a "tanned, darker" look, so people sometimes ask me "They're so delicate and cute, are they yours?" Sigh!
