Some female sports figures are very macho macho and agressive, just like their male counterparts. Do they take steroids as well or is something else going on here?

Some do take steriods, I never could figure out why anyone wants their body to look like that??? -
They have to be to win. They are very competitive and can be more so because women typically have to work twice as hard as men to get the same recognition.

Probably deniyng their femininity thinking its a weakness. I played hockey and lacrosse since I was 4, soccer for a few years in there and martial arts. And I've played with girls who act butch (forgive me for using a rude term) and aggresive but they really arnt. I'm like 5'2 and before I had my baby I was tiny. I had no trouble being competitive even again guys, and I've never been ashamed of my femininity (awsome word, in fact its my word of the day). Also playing sports with guys was ALOT more fun than playing with girls. Plus growing up I'm the only girl with 4 brothers I learned how to throw what little weight I had around quite effectively. Dont get me wrong I have nothing against other women, just playing sports with guys is ALOT more fun because of the competition people's skills increase faster. And of course I always made friends with everyone, cept those who didnt like having a girl on their team who was bettet then them.
