Firstly, it depends where abouts in the world you are, as law differ from country to country and state to state.
In general, child support payments stop when a child attains 18 years of age and are considered an adult.
There are some limited situations where some child support may still be enforced, usually if your child is incapable of looking after herself in the sense that she has a disabillity (ie, not being bothered to get a job isnt good enough) or, sometimes, if she is say, attending uni, to contribute towards her living expenses.
Dont just stop paying, but it may be worth while contacting your relvant child support agency and enquiring as to your situation, or getting some legal advice.
Depends on your documents. Some have to pay support through college. If you feel your support is no longer warranted, petition the court for a change in the support based on change of circumstances. Your payments are court ordered and you must continue to make them until the court orders something different. Do not just stop.
