Quayle is a midwesterner. Ohio is as good as any midwestern state. But as to politics, I think he is way past his prime. I don't think he will get elected even for city council.

ohio is a politically powerful state. i think he's way past his prime and is likely to further pull down the republican party at this time.
Maybe it's the only state that would have him. :)

Good question, I thought everybody forgot the Great Potato(e) controversy. Quayle was the beginning of the era of politicians that looked like movie stars and had the intellectual capabilities of a rock. Bush was, I hope, the end of the beauty contest method of picking candidates. Of course there's always Sarah. At least the country saw beyond appearance, for once.
I would guess Quayle is in Ohio because he doesn't know how to work the GPS. It's flat, could be Iowa.
