Help answer this question below.
"As it is intended" leaves a lot of guesswork on the part of the answerer.
It would be far too time consuming to try and figure out the direction that each asker is hoping for the answers to take.
So I simply answer the question as it appears to me.
I will use examples that illustrate my point of view.
These may or may not be considered pertinent by the asker based on their agenda.
I know when I ask a question, I leave the door wide open and look forward to all the answers.
Never know what you might learn that way!
I always try to stay on topic, but sometimes feel like an example or personal anecdote will help illustrate my reasoning.
Depends on my mood, and if I believe the asker was actually looking for ligament information (that I'm willing to share).
I. . .don'. . .know. That's probably because I'm not quite getting the question here.
Think that answerbag staff gives you 150,000 points for nothing. Now What? Can you buy a candy with that?

It seems that the AB land of "woe is me" is shrinking and the AB land of "glad to see you here" is expanding. Do you agree? Know why?

Some seem to mourn the transformation of Answerbag from Q&A to what it is now. Isn't it still Q & A? How is not? Do you mourn? Why?

You're reading Do you often look for a "hair" to split when answering AB questions or do you simply answer the question as it is intended without using examples that are not at all representative of the point of the question?

True. Some answer the question straight on...others look for the alleys, secret passages, hidden paths and answer those. Happy Thursday to you! :)

Honestly, I don't understand where you come from on the answering a question "straigt on". Isn't that subjective?
..
I don't see other's different take on my questions as being a search for "alleys, secret passages or hidden paths".
...
Your word choice seems to give differences of opinion and differences in perspective a negative connotation.
