I know it's odd, but the first thought that hit my brain was "Grand Funk Railroad!"

The dictionaries (Funk & Wagnalls) that my father was conned into buying when I was a youngster), they were dark blue, very expensive with poor quality binding and made no concessions whatsoever to UK English.
