Help answer this question below.
I often wondered that because it gives women total control over whether they get pregnant or not and men don't usually like women being in control of anything.
If Men had the pill we might never have children as most seem more interested in sex than being fathers.
Men, already had power over birth control in the form of condoms. The pill was so revolutionary because it gave women power over conception like they never had before.
Because men aren't the ones that actually get pregnant! IMHO!
Females get pregnant, men dont!
Probably for more than a single reason. Birth control grew out of horomonal reseach, which would be useful for both genders, but it just turns out preventing fertility in females without too many side effects was simpler than in males. And men have a freedom in sex women don't. We can't run off to Brazil if we find out we're pregnant. Plus you would simply have made far more money off female birth control than male, especially in a time when female independance was on the rise, but make virility was still cherished.
And I can't say whether this has anything to do with it, but just about all the people that had a major part in designing chemical birth control for women were men.
Perhaps it was easier to develop, I don't know.
And also, a male birth control pill IS being developed right now. It just isn't available commercially yet.
Same reason women keep asking us to put the toilet seat down... we don't do it.
The birth control pill was originally made to help women control their periods, the birth control was a side effect. Either way though, women have the babies.....
Supposedly there may be a Male contraceptive pill on the market sooner rather than later

Because Males and Females have different reproductive systems. Men can help control unwanted pregnancies by wearing condoms and even more so by getting a vesectomy. I'm not 100% sure but I don't think that there could be a pill developed for a man to take to prevent pregnancy. :)
How old is the birth control pill?
