  • This is one I got from the Food Channel web site. They are truely decadent... 1/3 cup whipping cream 6 tblspns unsalted butter 1 tblspn rum or brandy flavoring 8 oz bittersweet chocolat, broken in to chunks 6 oz bittersweet chocolate 2 tblspns Crisco or equivilant 6 oz almonds finely ground, crushed chocolate cookies , cocao, crushed pistachios, your choice for rolling them in when done. Heat the cream and butter to just simmer, then add chunked chocolate. Remove from heat while chocolate melts. Add flovoring and stir till glossy. Pour into a chilled bowl and set aside till firm, not hard. Once firm, use a mellon baller and scoop out. Roll by hand on a non-stick foil and set aside. Melt the remaining chocolate with the Crisco in the micowave for about 1 minute. Stir till melted. Mic it more if needed but in short increments. Drop each ball into the mixture and roll with a fork till coated. Then lift out and roll in topping you have chosen. Then let them set on parchement or non-stick foil. Chill and keep refrigerated till served.
