Because the monetary system is corrupt. It benefits the individual who is willing to exploit someone else. In this case, campaign contributions to vote a certain way, which isn't expanding health care coverage or reducing costs, which from what I understand is the goal.

The problem is there's not enough money to go around. So it leaves decisions to be made. Should we spend hundreds of billions on the military (who's primary function is to kill others in defense of citizens) or on health care (who's primary function is to heal people)? +3
Look at their campaign contributions and you will find your answer.
because they probably realize that the plan costs too damn much and will never work efficiently!
Because they know this health care bill is a disaster and they really want to be re-elected next November.
Because they've sold their souls for money.
SOPA and PIPA have been shelved by congress. Pleased?
