From where I sit, in Africa, Obama seems to be doing a good job. Why the intense negativity about him on AB? What do I not understand, as someone who lives outside the States?

Obama is doing a reasonably good job...it's just that the organized "hate Obama" groups are putting in a lot of effort to diminish his standing.

It's just our local politics - a few bad apples spurred on by propaganda from a fair sized hate organization and they make a lot of noise and say a lot of dumb things but frankly they aren't taken seriously by anyone here - least of all those who support this nation and it's elected representatives.

The propaganda they are spewing is so foolish that they are actually loosing more supporters to their cause then they are gaining - that's why I like to egg them on to make bigger and more idiotic and outlandish claims against the present administration.

Their own bombastic remarks marginalize their influence on public opinion - and eventually even they will come to realize this method of persuasion is doing more harm to their positions then to the majority opinion and they will quiet down again and try something else.

But until they finally do realize the negative impact they are having on themselves we just have to live with their silly , ( and frankly harmless, ), venting of nonsense.

So don't despair! The President is not in any danger from this screed - nor is his agenda - which is pretty much on track and where it should be at this time.

I hope you are correct. I agree with you, but there are some people who believe the "stories" they hear on Fox news. They may have influence with some who cannot think for themselves.

A few people will always believe "the big lie", that can't be helped. All we can do is remain a voice of calm sanity in a sea of turbulent shouted lies... . See shouting may get your attention but very few like to listen to a screaming man...people prefer rational quiet - common sense speaking to ludicrous shouting.

They are using the old Hitler / Gobbles propaganda technique...where you shout lies loudly and often enough and people will start to believe it....well you be the judge...do YOU believe their nonsense yet? Are you now on their side or are you now convinced that they are a bunch of anti American crazy people?

Look at their repetitive questions? The same things posted day after day...all worded like something spoken from a refugee from the lunatic asylum...have their words found a place in your thoughts or have you just started to ignore them as you would cracks in a sidewalk? How do you think their propaganda is working on you? Let us know please...

Of course not, but I am a rational being. Remember your own reference Hitler. People laughed at him in the beginning too. Nobody took him seriously. If you can sufficiently frighten enough people you can get them to believe and do anything.

If you can fully manipulate the level of fear in a person you can control that person...it's another old Gobbles propaganda technique ...yet that didn't work on you or me when Bush tried it after the 9/11 attacks did it? Yes it worked on many of our brothers and sisters...but we who THINK actually saw through the obvious manipulation didn't we? The memory is too fresh from that big lie for us to readily fall for another one.

Yes, many "sheeple" will be misled by the right wing propaganda machine - we can't do much about those poor lost souls except pray for them - but we can - through reason and undeniable proof convince those who don't know which way to go - and still have reasoning ability - to embrace our point of view because not only is our position better but because we are the only seemingly rational people speaking to them. The right wings own propaganda techniques work against them here...Let them have the parrots & sheeple - we will take the rational majority - and win.

There are left-wing fringe nuts here too, but they don't usually talk about Obama unless it is a reply to a right. It is really hard to argue with people who listen only to Fox news. They have so much misinformation they insist is fact. Many people just ignore and let the haters talk among themselves. You know the old saying. "You can never win an argument with an ignorant man."
