It depends. I don't know how you you both are, but if they have family ties, then it's to be expected. Whether is through children they have together or their families know each other and keep in contact with each other.
On the other hand, if there is no apparent reasonable explanation for their continuing to talk with each other, then it would give me a pause. However, some people just find out they are better as friends than a couple.
There is only one way to find out which is to talk about it with him, frankly and calmly. Otherwise, it'll bother you forever and maybe for no reason at all.
