I say 18, but there are still some things people can't do until they're 21. If a person is old enough to serve in the military at 18, they are old enough for full adult rights in all aspects of life.
-
For me? = 37. ;-)
-
18. That's pretty adult-ish.
-
I don't determine age by their biological clock. I determine it by their emotional maturity.
-
18! This is the point of no return! You are or should be a responsible adult, and will be expected to act as one! If not, you certainly will be charged as one. : )
-
A person is LEGALLY an adult at 18 and can be tried for any crimes that he or she commit ... BUT: mentally - emotionally and mature wise ... it just varies , depending on the person . I've seen people who are 30 ; that act more like 15 - 16 years old ... mentally etc ... However; in MY book ; 18 has to be an adult .. +5

In Australia 18. They can do everything. I am aware that in the US, in some states, they can't drink until they are 21, but that seems a bit over the top to me.
-
Whatever age they start acting like one, if i have to choose though i will go with 21.
-
18

-------------> IN THE USA IT 18yo

When folks stop voting for Republicans.

I say 18. +5

Doesn't have to go by age, I don't necessarily think of a 21 year old as adult if they act younger, though legally they might be considered adult. Most 18 year olds I've met were far from adult
-
18, by that age you can do everything (legally) that is important in life in my country.
-
some people never grow even the age after 21 years old.
-
Its more than just an age. Legally it may be 18, 21 is perhaps more adult like since its out of the teenage years - but I don't think either them are really adult though. Most of us are still too immature, inexperienced and haven't got enough responsibilites at those ages to really be considered adults.
-
It is 18 in Ireland.
-
I'll go with 39. If only limited to the two choices I'll go with 21. Have no idea if you refer to the legal age or a mature level. +5

Sometimes I would think that most people don't form good judgment and a sense of responsibility until they are over 30. That 18 to 21 business is legislated in order to protect minors from being exploited by so-called adults.
-
21 is MORE adult than 18. But fully adult is like 25 or 30.
-
Id say 30ish
-
To me physically it is around 18, but that is not how I judge an adult.

#1. Law demands Drinking age Dating How late you stay out is some places And other things I am surely missing. #2. How do you determine maturity. a. Education b. Application of what you know c. Ability to rationalize based on your prior experiences. Note I make no mention that education is only obtained from school.
-
Many 18 year olds are still in high school, and it's hard to think of them as an adult.
-
18 of course
-
The question is a bit limiting. Numbers mean so little now a days. In some cultures people have to "grow up" very quickly. I know some 16 year olds that are more adult than some 80 year olds!. When I think of adult, i think of someone who is mature. not mature as in "ridged and never silly", but being able to make informed decisions that are productive and beneficial to their life and peoples lives around them and then act on those decisions.
