    Even though douchebags are generally assumed to be less than considerate I believe that the use of the adjective points up a particular aspect of the douchebag in question and helps the listener get a better sense of what to expect of the specific douchebag mentioned.

    It is only fitting if the accolade of "douchebag" needs emphasis. Mostly, I would try to avoid name calling because the most imaginative wins and may not necessarily be the right one to win.

    +6 for being considerate enough to ask if douchebag is enough, not many people do.

    Seems to me that hurling such an insult is exactly what a douchebag might be expected to do, and is extremely inconsiderate. So like so many ad hominem attacks, it probably applies well to the person launching the attack. Whether is aptly describes the person it is aimed it is a separate matter. :)
