Help answer this question below.
Why the hell would anyone do that?
You CAN hear ABOUT the Bible that it's an airplane with purple teeth and three tails, that doesn't mean you should believe that.
no. you should always investigate yourself
No,just what it says inside.
It depends on what you heard.
No.. eg. someone showed me a verse that equates hope and faith as evidence of a truth, saying that is wisdom beyond man's capacity to understand. Instead of being stuck trying to figure that one out, I can only say that there is a lot of fiction element in the bible; like believing in anything supernatural at all.
Certainly not. Anyone at all can say anything at all about anything at all. You must rely on investigation and evidence as swell as observation and commonsense.
About the Bible as well as about everything else, ask the Right Questions and find the answers that you CAN believe. Never stop investigating, never stop discovering, and above all never stop questioning.
No, it's mostly a collection of fables. +2
Nope, you should read it yourself and come to your own conclusions.
Haven't you ever been told, "Believe none of what you hear and half of what you see"?
You shouldn't and I don't.
You should never believe everything you hear about anything.
.
Always be open-minded but skeptical at the same time. Look for answers yourself don't rely solely on what others have "interpreted" for you. Make sure you always check your facts with multiply reliable sources.
You mean it doesn't hurt vampires?
No, you shouldn't believe everything it says. Unless proven, stick with not believing it.
Now how would that even be possible. Do you know what everything means?
You shouldn't believe everything you hear.
About ANYTHING, and that includes the Bible.
go to http://www.watchtower.org
and in search look for,
Should you believe everything you hear?
I didn't know bibles could talk.
You'd become psychotic!
Ain't that all contradictory and/or purely interpretive?

[As a rule of thumb, I only believe at most half of what I read, some of what I see, and none of what I hear.]

@ Slyanor -- I was so coming here to point that out.
I don't know why you'd believe everything you hear about the bible when you can read it for yourself. Or, if you must hear things, listen to it ala books on tape style.
At any rate, if you believe everything you hear or read, etc, that just makes you gullible. Form opinions of your own, it's not forbidden you know. Listen to people, read great texts, but make your own decision. If you've never done it before, start out by reading something where people disagree. Where you can't just take what you read and believe it, parrot it. You want to learn to make up your own mind? Try reading the Talmud. It's a record of rabbinic discussions pertaining to Jewish law, ethics, customs, and history. A lot of which pertains to "The Christian Bible" or the New Testament or however you want to phrase it. But what it really is, is Jewish rabbis arguing with each other centuries apart. Giving their opinions. Stating why the other one is wrong. It's one of the best ways to learn how to see something that seems so fixed from multiple points of view. It's one of the best ways to learn how to read the Bible and see how a passage can mean more than one thing. How if you focus on these words, the passage means something entirely different then if you focus on these.
Don't believe everything you hear. Don't take as gospel what you read, what is preached to you. If rabbis can argue with each other centuries apart, then you can form your own opinions in the hear and now, instead of just blindly listening to everything everyone says.
It wouldn't work anyway. Eventually, you're going to hear people disagree with each other and you'd have to form an opinion of your own anyway.
People study the bible to learn from it, interpret it, understand things in context and to form their own opinions. Don't be afraid to. It's a long and noble tradition that spans thousands of years and more than one religion.
But you started with the first step, albeit unknowingly. The first step? It's called asking.
I asked this question for a reason. most of the questions about the bible that are asked are answered with opinion, very seldom with scripture. I did not say that I believe everything I hear about the bible.
I believe every thing in the bible,Because I have studied it for years to see if it is truly the word of God.That is the only way any one can learn what is truth and what is opinion. And my hope is that some of you will see the logic in that and thereby find what the Bible really teaches. Regards Larry
For the book “What does the bible really teach?” go to www.watchtower.org. Or write to Jehovah’s Witnesses, 25 Columbia Heights,Brooklyn, NY 11201-2483.You can do this with no oblations whatsoever.
I don't think you should believe anything about the Bible.
It requires critical thinking. Some will say, "No!" But what if what is being said is, "The Bible is wrong"?
So, you see, your question covers every possible contingency and is rather vapid. You'll have to narrow the scope to get relevant answers.
Absolutely not.
If one questions something, only they should test it for themselves.
Is there a study guide along with"Know the Bible in 30 Days"?

refrain from the blasphemy and respect other religions, or you will be returned no respect for yourself.

Refrain from the terrible reading and writing of English, or everyone will think the truth, that you are a complete idiot.
by Siyanor on November 14th, 2009
I speak very good English. I am a very bright and intelligent person who has studied the subjects of religion plus human nature. You are very dimwitted and you are very ignorant of the world around you. In order to live properly one must know what respect is and how to deal with it. Towards religion and culture. Tolerance of violence and insults as well. Give respect and respect will be given back. But you probably live in a country where everything is handed to you. There is an old saying in my family my mother told us. Only through dedication and submission to God can you thrive from the earth, but when left soil and water, it will become your grave.

If you could speak good English, you would realize that what you typed makes absolutely no sense and is ungrammatical.
by Siyanor on November 14th, 2009
I've been speaking English for 18 years and speak it perfectly, and while you watch television, I read literature. There are no errors in the paragraph stated above. The same thing you told me applies perfectly to you. It seems I have a better understanding of this language than you do. It also seems you have not addressed anything I have said with a response besides my English. Like others, you probably think I am using a translator. The Spanish and English language do not translate into each other if you didn't know. You show more ignorance with each response. I would unsubscribe because you are in no shape mentally for a proper debate.

Lol.
I'm not going to bother arguing with a complete idiot.
by Siyanor on November 14th, 2009
If you look at our empty and pointless conversation, I have said nothing that implies the lacking of knowledge on my part, and so far you have proven to be an unworthy opponent for debate because of your confusion of religion, human understanding, and for some reason the English language. I will leave you some advice before I conclude this conflict. "Judge yourself before judging others, know your enemy, and show respect to earn respect."
