Depends on how you look at things. If you choose A over B, you could argue that it was your own conscious choice to choose A. But it could also be argued that although it felt like your conscious choice, because you *did* choose A you were predestined to do so.

i think its both. we have free choice to do things, but, in the final analysis, the impact that we as individuals have is limited.
