I'm not sure anyone really does, or at least really understands if they claim too. I think many people that claim too are actually worshiping the indulgences of the flesh over the being called Satan, and just get mixed in with the whole weirdo crowd.

Satan is the god of this world...if you worship him,you are almost guaranteed success in this world because that is what he offers. The love of money or material things is a very dangerous love indeed! Sometimes it's out of loneliness or depression that some reach out to satan. He will persecute you,that's for sure, but when he knows what your desires are he can very easily make you forget pain

Well, i am a LaVey satanist, and i personally believe in Satan because of one day when i had a thought.
Why do people believe that god is the good one when he butchers thousands every day with storms and tornadoes, when Satan only tortures the evil. Also, who runs Purgatory? He sure is one sick son of a b---- watching people watch their friends and family die whilst God decides whether to take them in or not.

Secular Satanists don't worship Satan but Traditional Satanists do worship the Satan of the Bible. Why some worship Satan is due to the vile and sinful nature of man with a good dose of stupidity added in the mix. They are clueless as to what they are dealing with.

Where on earth do you begin?? desperation, extreme insecurity, depression, misguided thinking, lack of education, assumptions, arrogance, desire for power (albeit false)...and so much more.. for me it was stupidity..i never worshipped him, but did go to him for something...i dont think talking about satanism/satans powers is wise. It can sound more appealing than frightening. Which it is. It's funny how the greatest proof that God exists is the thing that hates Him the most. satan.
