I did not slam on my brakes actually. I did not because it was already too late. RIP little possum :( (I just hope its not bad luck to run over possums on Halloween night b/c that's when it happened!)
I was talking to my passenger and not looking at the road. When I did look forward again, traffic had come to a halt. Moral of the story?. It may be true that you should look someone in the eye when you are speaking to them. But the exception should be. Not when you are driving. When you're driving, your eyes should be on the road.
