Because everytime a pet is spayed or nuetered Bob Barker gets a percentage in royalties so the vets have to charge more to maintain their profit margin.
Overhead?

Drives me nuts. Where I am (Ontario, Canada) they charge $110.00 for a cat and $150.00 for a dog. I wold love to know the answer for that question as well. Maybe we can all learn something and join forces.

That sounds extremely high. Even if an examination, a bunch of vacinations and teeth cleaning were included. Did you ask around to see if it's out of line?

That is what they charge.. they nickel and dime for everything. Want all sorts of tests and meds in the mix. I refused to pay that much money but I talked to a gal who just spent that on her cat.

Well there are clinics here who'll just do the nutering and the required rabies shot for I believe $55/$75. But they're very adamant the there's no physical exam or other vacination/medications.
