That sign demonstrates no class at all. It's just tasteless. Never hand write it that way. Have the sign professionally made.

That would depend upon whether he really was all the things this father called him. I once told a druggie who was after my daughter that I had already killed at least 6 men that I know of, and one more or less wouldn't make that much difference to me. Mwahahaha!

I think it is funny. My daughter would think it is funny and her fiance would think it is funny. . . or else. . .

Ha! I'm sure that was a joke, something the families would laugh at. Something I would do if I were a dad.

But maybe he is shiftless. And maybe the future ex-Mrs. John Patterson should have listened to her dad.

If I thought the man my daughter was going to marry was no good for her and was going to cause problems in the long run, yes. For example, if my daughter was going to marry a drunkard or a gangster, then, yes, my husband would be justified in the actions described above.

I would make sure my daughter knew how I felt about who she was marrying. I would never go public with my views, though.

That's just tacky. If parents don't like their children's chosen spouse, get over it. Maybe it will go wrong, maybe it will go right. Who knows? I don't know why they did something so horrible. Understandable if he was a serial killer or rapist or something...

No I wouldn't support him. If the daughter is of an age where she is able to marry without their consent then they have no say in the issue. If they want to stay in her life then they should act adult about it. If they think the person maybe wrong for them then surely they woudl want to be there to help her out when that happens. If the father does that then the chances are they will not be in her life and she may end up in danger.

That's a disgrace. There are other ways in which to show your disapproval for your son-in-law to be. I wouldn't even invite my father if he did this. If it was my husband, the sign would not even got pass the first letter.

If it is anything to do with forced marriage I would never allow it to happen.

    I answered too quickly

No I would not allow him to do that UNLESS of course I agreed :)

They say daughters fall in love with someone like their father. Now that would be interesting in this case.

It IS funny but if I thought that someone was wrong for my daughter(and I did) I would keep my mouth shut. She wouldnt listen,(I didnt at her age)and it would stop her coming to me if it all went horribly wrong. If it didnt go horribly wrong, there would always be resentment towards me for airing my views.
On a hiding to nothing either way.+5

I wouldn't be so public about my opinion. I certainly wouldn't do something to embarrass and hurt my daughter.

If I really felt like he was a danger to her in any way, I would set aside a little "get to know you" time and scare the sh!t out of him with the cold hard fact that his face and my boot will become close friends if he were to ever harm her.

Other than that, she, unfortunately, has to learn that lesson the hard way.
