I had a fear of falling which developed itself into a massive fear of heights after something terrible that happened when I was very young...it will never go away, a nightmare to live with as I wish to see what others see, but I cant!!!
For me its bees
needles...*shudder*
Fear of the boogeyman.
fear of darkness
Spiders! My older sister by 10yrs. used to become hysterical at the sight of house spiders. This negative response had an effect upon me as a young child and I'm still in the process of trying to conquer it fully.
My extreme fear of heights. Comes from something I experienced as a 3-year-old. I even have a picture of me at that moment. It matters not that I know the cause...the fear was deep and terrifying and it is still with me today, all these many years later. Warning to parents. Be very careful when your child is very young. Some experiences they will never ever forget....never.

If you are afraid of spiders, why? If they aren't poisonous and don't bite you, shouldn't they be more afraid of you for wanting them dead?

I can remember being afraid of bridges every time my father would drive over a big suspension bridge. I used to dream about these big bridges a lot as a little kid. It was a recurring dreams that became a nightmare for me.

That must have been harrowing as a child, I suppose we learn to live our lives around these fears.....I have come to terms with mine.

Yes, we seem to lose most of our fears by growing out of them.
