You shouldn't let someone else tell you what browser to use. You have to decide based on your own experiences, preferences and the kinds of web sites you visit. Sites that rely on Active X for example do not work with Firefox. If you prefer IE after giving Firefox a fair evaluation, so be it.
I agree with the majority that if Firefox is crashing on you, you might want to try re-installing. Most Firefox users are quite happy. I'm one of them. But you are your own best judge. We haven't even brought Opera into this discussion....
FireFox is better for most people. Crashing? try updating it or reinstalling it.
firefox has been proven to be better because it prevents spyware and adware and some viruses that can be incorperated into some websites. i am a loyal firefox thing for mutliple reasons, it looks kooler and also the alt-t thing which makes a new tab instead of having to open a new window in IE. it helps so much when i am doing projects for school and everything
According to some experts, it is safer to use Mozilla Firefox because Internet Explorer has been the target of Hackers for a long time. There are more chances of being successfully attacked while using Internet Explorer. Try to download Mozilla again, they just released a new version a few days ago.
It's 'horses for courses'. I like Firefox, my husband likes IE. You can run both at the same time, why not try out each of them and then decide. Or, use Firefox and IE .
I live by Mozilla...Firefox is the best browser out there. Ive never had ANY problem with it. But when i had IE every day i had to run a virus check and every day i had over 40 viruses....
It really depends on what computer do you specificly own. If you own a mac, then it's best to get firefox as well as high-competitve computers like Gateway and HP. Other compters may usually use Internet Explorer.
By the way, it's not a good idea to both have Firefox and Internet Explorer, it increases your chance of crashing.
Although I use Internet Explorer 7, I have to admit that sometimes its cache gets full, or slows down rapidly. However when I installed Mozilla, the interface was more visible, good looking to the eye, and I found it a bit faster. If your firefox crashes simultaneously, I agree like everyone, try reinstalling it, maybe some error was made.
FIREFOX all the way!!
it's much, much faster. Plus, it's a lot cooler (plugins and all) XD
I used to be devoted to Firefox but it has started to get really bulky and slow. Internet Explorer is garbage don't use that. I use Google Chrome now and really like it, its lightweight and fast.
Actually, from what I've seen, they both seem to be pretty much the same thing. Firefox doesn't really seem to run faster than IE at all, despite what people tell me. However, I typically use Firefox, because when it does crash and shut down unexpectedly, I at least have a chance of automatically restoring the sites I was on without having to go back to them manually. To my knowledge, IE doesn't do that. Still, I have to use IE for some things. For instance, there are some sites I go to where if I want to listen to an mp3 on my default music player, I have to use IE, because Firefox just plays it in QuickTime in the browser. Firefox also doesn't show tool tips. I don't know why that is, but it sucks balls.
But, really, there is no harm in using both of them.
For 95% of your surfing needs, Firefox is better but you should still keep IE.
Which version of Firefox are you using? Certain versions are a little... wonky on some systems. I had some (apparently unique) issues with Version 3.0Final and had to stick with 3.0ß5 for a while but now run 3.0.1 without a hitch.
Firefox, definitely. If you like Mozilla, you might want to try Opera - it has all the functions of FF and more.
I find that IE is slow, crashes constantly and consumes CPU. IE is also a popular target for viruses and doesn't have a defence as good as Firefox.
Firefoz has never crashed for me - are you sure you're up-to-date with the latest version? Firefox also allows plug-ins, add-ons, and has a more lightweight and clean feel to its appearance.
But, of course, that's just my opinion, judging from how the programs work on my computer, and you might not agree.
Firefox, but if you are on Windows (as was previously noted) you have to have IE. Not a bad idea to have both (in case you need to do business with IE - although many companies are getting with the program). If crashes are frustrating your browsing get the "Session Manager" add-on. It saves the tabs so that it will all come back when you restart firefox. Get AdBlock Plus too.
Firefox tends to let viruses enter and lots of spam.
I have used both and Internet Explorer has a much better defense against viruses.
how do you get both i have IE built in but wen i download mozilla firefox IE gets taken off
Help.
firefox i think is better but mum prefers IE
so i need help to have both
I prefer IE after trying Firefox and Apples Safari for Windows. I find IE works a lot better on my computer but then again that is just my computer and yours might be differnet. You should use what you like best.
Personally, I like Mozilla Firefox. Internet Explorer? Not so much.
how do i uninstall internet explorer it is not listed in my control panal
Use both of them some pages are firefox friendly and some are IE friendly. Both of them are good, but firefox is known to be slightly faster. With the new Firefox 3 coming out I still will use both, but i will lean towards firefox more,
P.S Firefox hasn't crashed for me yet
I used IE for years but it was and still is a favourite for hachers. So I started using Mozilla Firefox and haven't had any problems with it.
Use what you like, not what other people like.
There are benefits to both IE8 and Firefox 3 that make them right for different reasons. Even if you use one, I would have the other one available for when it doesnt do what you want it to.
Use Chrome, Safari or Greenbrowser Or do what I do and make your own from source at sourceforge.
i want to get rid of the inter explore but don't no how it is not listed in control panel as where i can remove it
I've been using Firefox for years. It crashed yesterday for first time. I didn't know what was going on. I got a gray box saying Firefox has crashed. What's that about? I like Firefox sooooooo much better that IE.

You're reading Should I use Mozilla Firefox or Internet Explorer? I have both already, I can't decide. BTW, Firefox crashes sometimes.

I agree wtih what you say, but it's worth pointing out that if you sometimes need ActiveX but prefer firefox, there's an addon called IETab, which lets you use the IE rendering engine for a specific firefox tab. You're effectively using IE with firefox decorations, on demand.
