I think our avatars are what we would like to be. What we wish we were. An image of something we aspire to become.

Jack Nicholson is one of my favorite actors next to Al Pacino and Robert Deniro; the name The Caretaker was bestowed upon my character by the good folks of AB via comments

its individual-i am griffin-i am what i am-others pretend-some are substitutes -what they wish they were-i dont think it matters-
-
Avatars are just tiny graphics that individual participants choose to show. Nothing more, nothing less. No reason to make anything more of it, unless you are in serious need of a hobby or a job.

Because it's so small most people haven't the faintest idea what mine is, so it must be pretty poor advertising, although I hope it conveys a sense of peacefulness and serenity. Of course when I had a picture of myself it was certainly truthful advertising.
-
advertise..?? not me, i just din want a blank picture so i opted for the picture with the sunset and palm tree :P
-
Mine would be advertising,I like the artists work so my avatar is of it,my screenname is what I like in life and my age when I really got into the internet.
