The teacher isn't wrong to say that. Marijuana isn't addictive.
It's true actually. it pretty much reduces stress. for the past few months i've been smoking at least 4 or 5 times a day. a week ago i quit and so far i find myself forgetting about getting high until someone reminds me of it. marijuana actually kills cancer, doesn't kill braincells, actually increases brain function, cures insomnia, glaucoma, and some cancers such as lung cancer. there has never been a death caused by marijuana in the history of man. so it's not that harmful actually
I think you are correct. The teacher is an idiot, there are just some things you can't say in front of other peoples kids. The teacher was also correct, marijuana isn't addictive and you can live normally whenever you decided not to use it. I use it more now than when I was a teenager. I have been able to eliminate almost all my pain meds, all my stomach meds, I've gained some sorely needed weight and I'm feeling better than I have in 8 years. The pharmaceutical companies can kiss my bony butt. YAY pot!
A recent panel of advisors to the British goernment stated marijuana was less harmful than alcohol and cigarettes. It is not addictive, merely habitual
I understand how you can be upset. As a mother I would be upset too if my daughters came home from school at that age and their teacher told them that. But, I dont expect their teacher to lie to them either. If the question was asked then she answered it honestly according to research thus far. They cannot prove that it is addicting or life threatening. It wasnt right of her to answer the question, period. But since she did you can at least she didnt lie to the kids.
There isn't a drug that exists that doesn't have the potential for addiction. Sounds to me like this teacher has a bit of a habit with it him/herself.
I used to smoke weed it was never addictive (FOR ME!) I could handle it well it was only on occasion though never depended on it but I haven't smoked in like 5 months so yup but I'm not saying it can be addictive but I have no yet met anyone addictid
That teacher never said that.
Regardless of whether the information is correct or not, and I think it's highly arguable, s/he was completely out of line for saying it and should be fired.
any chemical in our body that changes the make up of the cells when it hits them is addicting. this includes emotions that occur naturally in our body such as anger lust and self pity. when you feel something a lot your body makes more of those chemicals for that emotion in your brain, and it attaches to receptor points in the cells in your bloodstream. after awhile of being bombarded with these chemicls, when those cells divide their sister cells will be fitted with more receptors for those chemicals and less for the good stuff like food and water. over time if you feel it less or do the drug less they will begin to crave it and you will put yourself in situations to make yourself feel like that again. if its for a drug then you will want to do the drug more and this is why people begin selling their stuff to get that hit because their whole body is made of cells with extra receptors for that drug and when they dont recieve it those cells feel incomplete like when you dont eat your cells need food so your body says your hungry food is a chemical that also changes your cells chemistry this is why people can also become addicted to eating or sex or power and so on.
If his school is the United States, it would be right for you to bring that up to the school district. Teachers aren't allowed to say those things. I know this b/c I have family that are teachers and this is a law where we live. There are certain things they aren't supposed to talk about and this is one of them, even if it's a Health teacher. There are many opinions on this plant and some say it's addictive while others would agree with that teacher.
My best guess that the teacher would be using in order to say that to their students.
You need to contact the school and if they don't do anything about it, inform the district that school is in. It might not seem like a big deal to some, but just by that being said by a TEACHER, that could change the lives of many by abusing the drug and maybe worse. And that wouldn't have happened if the teacher didn't say it. Hypothetical situation, but could be. Best to prevent things like that. And it starts with one person.
