You are young. I met my wife when I was 30. Give yourself time to develop your career path and you'll become far more eligible.
See if there are chat lines with people like you and ask them how they cope.
I have AS too, wasn't diagnosed until age 52 though. I experienced exactly the same thing that you're going through. I have no happy story to tell you. I just stopped trying to socialize in my late teens.Better solitary than continuously rejected and ridiculed. +4
I'm sure they just don't understand your condition. It's probably difficult for them because they have never experienced such a thing. I'm not going to pretend I understand any better because I don't. There is probably someone out there for you though. Don't give up hope. =)
I know how you feel. I'm an 18-year-old girl with Asperger's, and about dating, "my time hasn't come yet" either, as adults keep telling me (I hate when they say that!). But it's because I'm different- I am easily frustrated, and when I am, I act it out- I scream, I throw things, and have tantrums like a baby. Being that this isolates me from other kids (they don't understand it), I haven't been able to have a relationship yet either. As for you, I really don't know what to tell you about why "girls don't understand you", because you didn't say anything about your asperger symptoms- do you talk about the same subjects all the time? Do you show any interests that girls may find "wierd"? And if so, are those your only interests? Do you have any sensory issues that people might not understand? Do you have trouble understanding social cues? I have that, and for example, it has caused me to do things that some people "don't understand" because when I did those things, I didn't see the "social cues" that should have "signaled" me to stop doing those things right away and never do them again. Are you obsessive about things that it's "not normal" to obsess about? Do you have trouble choosing a topic of conversation when you're talking to girls? Do you think that maybe you talk about things that the person you're talking to is not interested in, and maybe you don't realize that at the time, so you keep talking about it while the other person is bored with what you're talking about? Do you have a hard time understanding humor? For example, when someone tells me a joke, I usually don't get it. If any of these things seem true about you, then I think working on them should help, considering that everything else seems fine because you say you're mannerable, kind, handsome and descent. If you try and succeed at not showing those symptoms too much, then what gal can resist ya!
Did he or she tell you that they loved you before, during, or after sex?
