  • For the same reason Obama is forgiving and loving and this is why He feels it's necessary to create ObamaCare.
  • To rehabilitate. I don't believe in an eternal hell, it doesn't make sense to me. I think a loving God would want us to learn and be changed for the better not spend eternity withering in pain.
  • Or plague, or cholera, or malaria, small pox, or measles, cancer, flu, hurricanes, tornadoes...
  • The Bible doesn't tell us who created hell, it only tells us WHY it was created: Matthew 25:41 Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels: Further, God doesn't send anyone to hell. As one expositor said well: " The choice is ours. God will not more "send anyone to hell" than he will "send anyone to heaven." Both places have been prepared and we make the choice. The wages of sin is death. Sin brings death. Death is a separation. (James 2:26) We die spiritually when we sin because sin separates us from God and we no longer have fellowship with Him. Eternal death is not annihilation, but eternal separation from God, symbolized by God saying "Depart from me ye cursed…" (Matt. 25:41)." http://www.biblesearch.com/answers/lastthings/heavhell1.htm
  • He's a sadistic sicko. Or would be if he existed....
  • He is of our own making it is a turning away from your Divine self. That get's lonely and confusing and that is hell.
  • The Bible tells us about all of God's other creations...But where does it tell us that God created a Place of eternal torment? It Doesn't.
  • There is no such thing as a burning hell.
  • Although it never explicity says who made hell in the Bible, it is implied that God created it, by virtue of it being a place that is seperate from him. The major paradox with God's omnipresence lies in this fact. If God is present in every aspect of creation, his absence from a location would have to be according to His will. Therefore, hell would exist because it is a place God chooses not to be present in. So even if God didn't directly create Hell, he causes its continued existence. The counter for this seeming paradox by Christian theologists is that God's wrath is present in hell, however this is contrary to biblical doctrine (see reference below). Scipture Reference: "And to grant relief to you who are afflicted as well as to us, when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven With his mighty angels in flaming fire, inflicting vengeance on those who do not know God and on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus. They will suffer the punishment of Eternal destruction, away from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of his might" 2 Thessalonians 1:7-9
  • Along with the forgiving and the loving came the one main rule "you will honor me as the only supreme God" along with the 10 Commandments that mapped out how we should live our lives. The forgiving and loving offer is only for those who followed the rules. There had to be something negative for those who did not folow the rules, or else it would be all "take" and no "give." Hell is for those who don't believe and don't follow the rules.
  • How would the religion control people if there wasn't the fear of going to Hell? Hell was created so that people would obey above the preachers voice. It's a manipulation technique so that more ignorant people would join. The more people that join, the mo' money you get.
  • To know God and people to realise that what is good and evil in the world ,
  • I guess God isn't beyond the illogical either.
  • God is love and burning people in a literal fire never even came up into his heart. http://bible.cc/jeremiah/7-31.htm The God of the Bible does not do that. "The wages sin pays is death"(Romans 6:23),not an immortal soul burning in Hell. "The soul that sins itself will die"(Ez 18:4) Jer 7:31 "And they have built the high places of Tophet, which is in the Valley of the Son of Hinnom, to burn their sons and their daughters in the fire, which I did not command, nor did it come into My heart." http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=mark9:47-48;Jer7:31;2Kings23:10;Acts%202:27;Psalms%2016:10&version=KJV;NKJV;CEV . http://www.answerbag.com/a_view/7280403
  • Christian dogma doesn't say, but we can make some logical deductions. By Christian dogma: 1.) Yahweh created everything according to His Plan. (Hell and sin are part of everything, as is the punishment required for sin. Otherwise, Yahweh didn't create everything.) 2.) Yahweh is omnipotent and omnipresent. (Yahweh knew the outcome and had complete control over it.) Thus, we can conclude that Yahweh created Hell because it, sin, and eternal punishment were deliberately designed as part of His Plan. He did it on purpose. Now, you ask me to answer the question assuming that Yahweh is forgiving and loving. According to Christian dogma and scriptures, Yahweh is neither UNLESS you worship Him, follow His every command, and accept the Blood Sacrifice of His only Son as payment for your sin. His benevolence has to be earned by total and complete subjugation and repentance. Even then, He subjects you to all the diseases, poverty, hunger, war, pain, disasters, and other horrors of the human condition the same as anyone else. (This isn't by dogma or scripture, but we can observe the world around us. Christians are no less likely to die when a hurricane hits than any other group.) He has the full power to intervene, but won't even if you've subjugated yourself completely to Him. I am at a loss to explain how that can meet any definition of benevolent, let alone loving.
  • To protect truth. If you murderer and convicted don't you go to jail? The punishment fits the crime. So in the same ways those who follow irreligion and over indulge in the 7 deadly sins are only being punished according to their own actions. It is not really God's fault but people. In fact God does shows us the right path by giving us exmplemary great souls like Saints, Angels etc, the Holy scriptures, and a conscious to make sure we don't sway from the path of Truth. God even comes down directly when irreligion is at a point of destroying the world. Since everyone has individuality and to some extent choice, people can make the decision to live of a life dedicated to God or sin. People aren't in control of the result but do have choice and individuality. Therefore if one dedicates themselves purely to God and acts, thinks, and prays with truth, love, devotion and respect; those souls go to Lord's Eternal Kingdom never hell.
  • Because sin and perfect holiness cannot exist in the same place. God is perfect, and sin is anything that departs from God's will or desires. When Satan rebelled sin occurred, at that point God cast Satan out of heaven and created a place of separation for Satan and all who choose to follow Satan's ways instead of God's. No living human really knows exactly what hell is like, there is much dramatization and speculation, but all we do know for sure is that: 1. It is a place of complete and total separation from God. 2. It is a place of endless torment. 3. It is not a place anyone would want to go. 4. Hell can easily be avoided by accepting the free gift of salvation that Jesus Christ offers you. Christ paid for all your sins (yes everyone has them) and provided a means for you to be covered by him so that you can be in the presence of God and in heaven for all eternity.
  • For the same reason it was necessary to give out the ten comandments but order people to break one of the rules. Like killing people. He simply doesn't care.
  • Hell is just a place without God, for those who would rather not be bothered by Him. Demons and people made it into what it has become.
  • Hell is hot, or fast burner. Then, you have to replace new wineskins with old. Like things would stay hot. Of course, it could be a "personal hell". So, maybe garbage burns fast.
  • How would you know if you were in Heaven if there was no Hell? Not bad for chic with really big boobs! LOL
  • That sort of God is made in our image, and we like to make rules and hand out punishments as well as rewards for certain behaviours. When you want to know something about a person, look at their ideas of God.
  • What did your earthly father do to YOU if you were bad? We're talking GOD here!!!!
  • if God were not loving and merciful and patient with us then we would be gone by now, instead he sent His son to pay the price for our sins so that we wouldn't have to go to hell. BTW,he created hell for satan not us,but if we choose to reject his free gift of salvation then WE make our bed in hell.
  • He didn't create a place of eternal torment. In fact Jesus himself was in the Bible hell.(The grave) Acts 2:25-27 King James Version says: "David speaketh concerning him (Jesus)...Because thou wilt not leave my soul in "hell", neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption." (The fact that God did not "leave" Jesus in hell implies that Jesus was in hell, or Hades, at least for a time, does it not?)
  • And if he was so fricken forgiving, why did he have to come back to die for you guys?
  • He didn't, Lucifer chose to leave heaven and rule in hell so that is a place of Satan's making not God's.
  • The idea of eternal torment for the wicked is not taught in the Bible...Translators have allowed their personal beliefs to color their work instead of being consistent in their rendering of the original-language words. For example: The King James version renders the one Hebrew word (she'ohl') as "hell" "the grave" and "the pit".
  • this is but one contradiction in the bible, which is why i believe it is nothing more than a novel, no more reality than harry potter
  • Because we are told he is forgiving to those that repent.
  • TO show how Just he is by punishing the sinners that didnt repent from their sins and accept His Son, Jesus Christ, as their Lord and Savior.
  • Hell is all the pain and suffering you create. When you die you walk through the pain and suffering in the other person's shoes and the shoes of all your pain and suffering that you affected. Once you have walked threw your own personal Hell God forgives you, embraces your, cleanses you of your pain and returns you to his/her loving heart. This is not from any holy book it is from my personal experience I had with God when I left and joined in unity with him/her. Eternal hell was written in to help control the masses into believing. God is loving, people just didn't think the world would listen if they said, "Don't worry, God loves you no matter what you do." But some of God's true prophets managed to get God's love right in the bible. It's why there seems to be so much contradiction. Eternal hell and Unconditional Love. The reason God does not intercede in life is because of free will. We chose to come here knowing that there is great suffering in the world. But great suffering can lead to great love and revelations.
  • 8-18-2017 If you want to know about God you should read the book He gave for that purpose. Also you should check a dictionary to make sure you know what the words actually mean. Hell is a hole is a grave, and the bible says everybody goes there and there is no awareness. That is all the opposite of what religious bs artists tell you. For example, most people think hell=fire. That bit of bs was made up by an Italian writer named Dante Alighieri.
