  • First of all, never use q-tips, they can push wax in further, and or perforate your ear drum. The clicking could be wax, or you could have fluid in them. You could try over the counter Ear Wax Removal and see if that works, if not, I would see your family doctor or an Ear Nose and Throat specialist.
  • Try some of the ear wax removal solution. What is probably happening is that when you are breathing in or out the pressure changes in your ear canal and causes the two waxy sides to briefly touch and stick together- when it releases you hear the "click" sound.
  • I have the same problem. I recently had a long international trip in the flight which spanned over 24hrs. Whenever the flight was about to land, I had severe pain in my ears and during one of those flights, one of my ears had reduced levels of hearing. And after the flight travel, now everytime I swallow, I hear this 'click' sound. Is it again wax? I have had this wax problem before where one of my ears gets reduced hearing and I went to get the wax cleaned and it comes back again after wax accumulates. My doctor said my left ear had an infection and gave me drops to use for 7 days which I completed (though I missed a dose or two on the last day). Can someone suggest tips on how to improve my condition?
  • It sounds like there is fluid in your inner ear to me. I get that when my allergies are bad, and a few days of Zyrtec usually clears it up.
  • My hearing started this exact same way. Its the beginning of nerve deafness. Now, i wear hearing aids.
  • might have a little fluid in there. Qtips will make it worse. Go get your ears flushed by a doctor. Another thing you could do, but isn't the safest, take the inside part to a pen, the clear tube with the ink, and slowly put the plastic side in, and gently scrape the wax out. You will be very supeised the amount of wax buildup you have
