Stay in bed and get some sleep. You might get better in 24 hours. Most people make the mistake of ignoring the minor symptoms and going to work. This wears down the body and makes it harder to fight off the cold or flu. I always take some "Airborne" at the very first sign of a cold or flu, and many times I can keep myself from getting sick. I teach in a classroom, so I am always exposd to sick people. Airborne was invented by a schoolteacher!
sounds like yours is still coming on. It might take a couple days. Get lots of rest to speed up recovery. And for a cough, mucinex is great stuff, also take vit c for the sore throat
Get some Zicam It is a zinc formula that reduces the length and severity of a cold.
To reduce the throat swelling take 1/4 of a FRESH pineapple and put it in the blender. Frappe' Drink it down. It may burn a bit, but it will reduce the swelling that comes with a sore throat. If this is bacterial not viral, drinking a cup of Sage tea (2 tea bags per cup) 1 tsp. crushed leaves brewed for 5 mins. (no more then twice a day.)
Try gargling with warm salt water to relieve some of the discomfort.
Feel better!
(I got this from another AB answer and it worked for me)
edit: Sage tea will also reduce congestion. It wont dry you up, but your nose will run like crazy and you will get all that gunk out of you.
Make sure its not H1N1.....just to be safe, +2
You are gettin sick
I'm sorry, do I look like a doctor? :P
Sleep as much as possible and take some medicine. You are getting a cold.
It sounds like you have a cold, which means that your symptoms may get worse in the next day or so, but there are things you can do to ease symptoms and speed your recovery:
1. Get as much rest as possible.
2. Rest your voice. Try not to talk unless it's absolutely necessary.
3. Drink hot lemon tea with honey (I prefer Celestial Seasoning's Lemon Zinger).
4. Take Mucinex D for nasal symptoms, but don't use for more than three days in a row.
5. Using saline nasal spray will ease any congestion. Since it's not habit-forming, you can use it as often as you want.
6. For a cough, use throat lozenges (Cepacol or Chloraseptic are best). If the cough keeps you awake at night, I have heard that Delsym is effective.

I read a report that Airborne doesn't work? That it is just a placebo. I don't know if it is true or not, just thought I should mention it. If you have any information that refutes this can you post it please? Thanks Tom

I just know that it's always helped me. I think it contains some suppliments that strengthen your immune system. It cannot "cure" a cold, but it can help prevent one from coming on. You must use it at the very first sign of symptoms, or if you are exposed to a lot of people coughing or sneezing and you think you should do something before it's too late!

Thanks Tom. I use Zicam (zinc) it also works well if you start it at the beginning of a cold.

I've used zinc also and I agree that it works well.
