  • For each square centimeter of stump area, a peach tree requires 2 to 3.5 liters of water. Since they grow fastest in warm weather, adequate water is crucial during summer months. However, excess water will cause "waterlog" and reversely retard growth. Use a pan evaporimeter to better estimate water needs.
