The University of Jena claims that caffeine extract can be applied to the scalp to discourage testosterone overproduction, while encouraging hair growth. This study claims that caffeine shampoo can place the equivalent of 60 to 80 cups of coffee onto the scalp with each use.
Bottom Line
Even though it doesn't cause hair loss, caffeine should still be avoided at times. Pregnant women, nursing women, people who are sensitive to caffeine and those with certain medical conditions should avoid caffeine.
