<h4 class="dechead">On One Hand: Manufacturer Claims
The makers of the Gi Slim Patch claim that weight loss with their patch doesn't require diet or exercise. The main ingredient is fruit vinegar. This vinegar contains red wine, which has been proven to reduce the risk of heart disease when taken internally. However, studies haven't been done on transdermal effectiveness.
On the Other: Lacking FDA Approval
The only over-the-counter weight-loss supplement that is approved by the Food and Drug Administration is the Alli diet pill. There haven't been any conclusive studies done that substantiate the claims that any patch, including the Gi Slim Patch, will aid in weight loss.
Bottom Line
Diet and exercise are necessary components to weight loss. The Federal Trade Commission released a statement that concludes that weight loss patches aren't effective.
