    Great Answer

    Professionally Researched. (What's this?)

    On One Hand: Reasonable Fee

A full car detailing job involves washing, waxing, polishing, vacuuming and shampooing both the interior and the exterior of the car. Everything from the crevices and knobs on the inside of the car to the cup holder must be cleared of grime, papers and stickiness. Tires and wheels must be cleared of dirt build-up. It is a time consuming process that requires the work of two or more people in order to do an efficient, thorough job. For this reason, it is reasonable to ask for $100 to $200 or even more to detail a car or truck (assuming it takes two hours and two people to complete the job).

    On the Other: Basic Detailing

If you are only doing a basic detailing job, such as a simple wipe-down of the dashboard and wheels, vacuuming the rugs, and just a car wash, the time and manpower commitment will be considerably less than a thorough detailing. The average cost should be about $50 to $90.

    Bottom Line

Set different prices for your detailing services based on what the customer wants. If he wants a basic detail job, cap the price at about $50 ($90 for large trucks). For "the works," the price should be doubled, since the work will likely be doubly difficult.
