Water weighs approximately 8.34 lbs. per gallon. So to calculate the weight of a water truck, multiply the weight of a full tank by 8.34, and add that to the weight of the empty truck. Make sure to include the weight of diesel fuel, which weighs about 12 pounds per gallon.Source:
