    Professionally Researched. (What's this?)

A water truck carries water from sources such as wells to remote dry areas or bottling plants. When it is empty, a water truck can weigh up to 40,000 lbs., depending on its size. Water weighs approximately 8.34 lbs. per gallon. So to calculate the weight of a water truck, multiply the weight of a full tank by 8.34, and add that to the weight of the empty truck. Make sure to include the weight of diesel fuel, which weighs about 12 pounds per gallon.
