Help answer this question below.

Why would a person answer a question 14 times with the exact same answer? It did happen: http://www.answerbag.com/q_view/178714

It's not going to make anybody want to increase their ratings by putting excessive posts on AB.

    I think this is probably a technical fault on the posters computer/internet connection. Sometimes when I've had problems with my connection I have ended up double posting accidently, this is probably just an extreme case. I certainly don't think it was intentional.

    I am sure that was just a technical fault. I have let AB staff know so they will probably delete all the duplicates soon.

    My question is:
    Why do you jump to the conclusion that its about points?

    It must have been a bug. I would assume that first.

    If I answered a question multiple times because of a bug and I noticed, I would ask people to flag those answers as nonsense in a comment of each of them. And the best would be to replace the whole text with something "nonsensical" such as ";".
    And if nothing happened, I would ask someone to do this on another comment thread.

    If I noticed this by someone else, I would write a comment "duplicate answer" by the duplicates. And flag them.

    Of course, this could also happen with purpose. If I found out, I would eventually flag it as spam. And make some comment about it.
