The full-size GMC Yukon Envoy XL Denali is the ultra-luxury version of the Yukon line of sport utility vehicles. It's the top model above the Envoy Denali, another luxury version of the GMC Yukon SUV.
Background
The Envoy XL Denali is the GMC version of the Chevrolet Tahoe SUV lineup and almost identical, with only the Envoy XL Denali marking a distinct difference with luxury appointments.
Substantial
The concept behind the Envoy XL Denali is to offer a more substantial look with a honeycomb grille and a low sloping front fascia that separates it from the standard Yukon line, according to Edmunds.com.
Upgrade
Upgrades include leather upholstery, wood-grain and nickel-finish accents in the interior, laminated glass and substantial sound-deadening material to give it an ultra-quiet ride.
Different Power
The Envoy XL Denali features a 290-horsepower 5.3-liter V-8 designed to shut down as many as four cylinders under certain driving conditions to reduce fuel consumption.
Gas Mileage
Operating on all eight cylinders, the Envoy XL Denali can achieve 16.3 miles per gallon, but fuel efficiency is increased to 17.6 mpg when operating with less than all cylinders.
Improvements
By 2006, the Envoy XL Denali was equipped 18-inch alloy wheels and General Motors' StabiliTrak system to keep the SUV's rear-end under control.
