    A collective group effort produced the first Chevy Camaro in 1966 for the 1967 model year. One of the people behind the car was Pontiac designer Bob Porter, who saw a car that inspired him to model one after it. It came out to be the Camaro. Others involved in the design included Henry C. Haga and George Angersbach
