Proper inflation is essential in caring for your tires. It will save on gas mileage and help the tires to last longer. Notations on the tire itself are the maximum pressure you can use. Refer to the instructions for your car; they are in the glove box area in the owner's manual or on the edge of the driver's door as stated on the dunloptires.com website (see Reference 1 halfway down that page under Inflation and Air Loss).
On the Other: Improper Inflation
Keeping your air pressure at an unsafe level can result in damage to the tire itself and it must be completely removed from the wheel to be inspected for wear. Tires are important for the safety of you and your family and the air pressure is simple to measure with a tire pressure gauge.
Bottom Line
The safety of you and your passengers should be your top concern. Check the air pressure in your tires at least once a month, and always before hauling a heavy load or going on a lengthy trip.
