Alzheimer's, a rare disease in males/females between the ages of 65 to 80, causes memory loss. If you know the early signs of Alzheimer's, you can find treatments to help the quality of life once the disease takes full effect.
Symptoms
Beginning symptoms of Alzheimer's may include slight memory loss or confusion. Symptoms may worsen over time causing the person to severely lose memory and the ability to learn. Those with Alzheimer's may lose the ability to remember the names of friends and family members.
Abstract Thinking
One early sign of Alzheimer's is problems with abstract thinking, such as balancing and dealing with numbers.
Finding Words
Those with Alzheimer's may first show signs by forgetting words they need in order to complete a simple conversation. Reading and writing may become a difficult task.
Judgment Loss
People with Alzheimer's may find it difficult to figure out what to do about simple problems, such as cleaning up a knocked over glass of milk.
More Severe Signs
As the disease progresses, each of the early symptoms become more pronounced and consistent. It may become difficult for an Alzheimer's patient to do every day tasks such as cooking and turning on the TV because they will forget the steps.
