  • Hyundai has several powertrain warranties available with the purchase of a new Hyundai. The newest and most popular is the 10 year/100,000 mile powertrain warranty.

    Parts Covered

The warranty covers repair and replacement of the car's engine, transmission, drive axle, water pump and related parts. The parts must be the original manufactured or installed parts.

    Coverage Period

The 10 year/100,000 mile warranty validity is based on a time period of 10 years or the number of miles driven up to100,000 miles, whichever comes first.

    Transferability

If the vehicle is sold, the existing powertrain warranty will cease. The new owner will receive a warranty under the powertrain five year/60,000 mile warranty. Transfers must take place within 30 days from change of ownership.

    Cancellation

The option to cancel is available. A written request must be submitted to the dealership that sold the vehicle. If canceled within 60 days a full refund is available. After 60 days the refund is prorated based on mileage.

    Can I Extend My Coverage?

Powertrain warranties can be extended by a period of one year/12,000 miles and up to seven years/120,000 miles.
